Frequently Asked Questions
We all know the state of our current medical system: hour long waits, seven-minute visits, providers who don’t know you, and mystery bills months later. By removing the confines and interference of insurance (regulations, authorizations, verifications, and coverage levels), I am able to keep a smaller panel, spend more time with patients, provide better care, and radically change the healthcare experience. DPC makes the patient-doctor relationship what it once was—direct!
Great! We want you to have insurance to cover services outside of Tarin Health- things like inpatient care, imaging and specialist care. You can use your insurance for all of those services and for medications and labs if you wish. Tarin Health also negotiates low cash rates for labs and you may find that it is less expensive not to use insurance for these services! Some patients find that DPC pairs well with a high-deductible insurance plan or "cost share" member plans. That being said, we do not bill or process insurance claims. We are not an insurance plan. Insured or not, we are happy to care for you.
As hospital systems have become more regulated and complex, there are now dedicated “hospitalists”—doctors who work exclusively in the hospital and don’t have an outside clinic. When you’re sick enough to need the hospital, it makes sense to have a doctor who does nothing but hospital medicine. Still, we want to make sure that doctor has all the information needed to make the best decisions. As a result, we often touch base with your care team over the course of your stay, and also talk to you to answer any questions you might have about how things are developing.
Not exactly. One of the most important values for Direct Primary Care (DPC) clinics is affordability. This is what sets us apart from concierge "boutique" clinics. Also, most concierge doctors bill insurance in addition to the high dollar membership fee. No copays, deductibles or co-insurance to worry about with DPC clinics. The main similarities are the personalized care and the easy access to your doctor.
If you have any questions not answered here about Tarin Health, DPC, or membership please feel free to reach out, and we will get back to you right away.
